The name Ganiyu Olawale Olatunji might not strike a chord when mentioned ordinarily but this illustrious son of Ilesha, Osun state is a renowned journalist who retired a few years back after decades of active reportage and investigative reports.

Alhaji Ganiyu Olatunji as he’s now fondly called has since retired from active journalism and sojourned into politics, humanity and community leadership. He’s also an active community leader and realtor and presently the Chairman of the Landlord Association, Santos Layout C.D.A and also Baba Adinni of Santos Central mosque Akowonjo, Lagos.

Speaking on his involvement in humanity, community leadership, and grass-roots politics, Alhaji Ganiyu said, ‘as a leader you are going to face a lot of challenges and pay a lot of price for been a leader’.

He went on to say, ‘you know Lagos as a cosmopolitan/metropolis its comprises of different types of tributes couple with the fact that Lagos is the commercial hub of Nigeria and My local Government wish is Alimosho local happens to be the biggest local government in Lagos state, it’s not been easy but we thank God’.

As a passionate elder statesman, Alhaji Ganiyu Olawale Olatunji advised the younger generation to ‘always stay focused and contribute their quota to nation-building efforts starting from doing good in their immediate communities and environment”.
