Cristiano Ronaldo has set a new record in the Uefa Champions League when he fired a brace to the back of the net against Apoel Nicosia in the 49th and 54 minutes of the 6-0 thrashing in Cyprus.
Ronaldo converted Madrid sole goal in the closing minutes of their 3-1 lose to Tottenham 2weeks ago to equal his previous record and by scoring against Apoel, he has now set the best record of goals scored by a player in the UCL.
He scored a brace to up his returns from 16goals in 2015 to 18goals this year and now has 7goals so far in this season’s competition, and will still face Dortmund at Estadio Santiago Bernabau in their last game of the Group Stages with opportunities still open to further extend his record.
This record include his brace against Juventus in the Champions League Final in Cardiff.
