Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has been affirmed by the Supreme Court as the duly elected Governor of Abia State.
This ruling overrides the earlier decision by the court of appeal to cancel the gubernatorial elections, It also overrules the court of appeals decision to swear in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Dr. Alex Otti.
No reasons have been given yet, however it has been communicated that the reasons for the judgement will be given on February 26, 2016.
In an undivided decision, the 7-man panel faulted every one of the decisions made by the court of appeal as related to the disputed governorship elections in the State.
