Abia Warriors coach Kennedy Boboye is choosing to remain calm amidst talk of his side being the favourites to win the Nigeria Professional Football League title this season.

The Umuahia based outfit are the only unbeaten outfit in the Nigeria topflight, though were held to a 2-2 draw by Enugu Rangers in a derby game on Sunday.

Boboye will be hoping talk of title favouritism will not affect his players’ frame of mind ahead of crucial league pairings.

“I don’t like talking about the NPFL title because it’s too early to talk about it,” Boboye told Goal.

“Even at this, we will keep working hard to get into the continent or get the champions’ trophy at the end of the season for Abia Warriors.”

Abia Warriors find themselves five points behind leaders MFM FC and five ahead of cross city rivals Enyimba and the tactician insists he is not under pressure to deliver at the end of the season while revealing the secret(s) behind his team’s invincible run plus his ambition.

“I’m not under much pressure because every other team are also battling hard to get the trophy,” he continued.

“But with the caliber of player we have coupled with hard work and concentration, we should be able to give our rivals a good fight.

“It’s all about changing the mentality of the players and making them know what you stand out for which everybody will key into, this is what I have brought into the team.

“Aside from this, I don’t work with lazy player everybody must fight for his shirt to be in the team and with that I get over a hundred and ten percent seriousness from the players,” he concluded.
